Warren Beard believes that science is beautiful and works hard to show that in his art and jewellery. He creates an image with a scientific bent, using data from the Hubble Space Telescope, or photos of physical processes like smoke moving in the air or interference patterns in soap film. He often blends in photos of landscapes or other things to create the final image. The unique piece of jewellery is created from these images by printing them on silvered plastic and embedding them in resin. Stud earring backing is made from 316L grade stainless steel – one of the grades commonly referred to as ‘medical’ or ‘implant’ grade.
Warren is a father, a product manager for a software company and an artist. He was born in Prince Albert and grew up at Emma Lake. While he currently lives in Montreal, he visits Prince Albert National Park area once a year, and incorporate a lot of photography from these visits into his work.
