Chris Relitz

After a workplace injury ended a 25-year career as a Registered Nurse, Chris found a connection between his creative expression and personal wellbeing.

Chris finds inspiration with his time spent with family in Waskesiu, Prince Albert National Park. Observing the patterns of animals and the cycles of the seasons, he paints to capture the haunting essence of the land. His style is realistic with an abstract flair reliant on the gold in nature. He is drawn to the monochromatic, and finds acrylic sepia and coffee (yup, your morning Joe) achieve the desired range of layered and shadowed tones. Chris’ unique coffee works are set on a cradled panel, protected with a hard permanent and archival coating.
