Molly Clark
The work of Saskatchewan artist Molly Clark took a dramatic turn in 2014 when she began making graphite drawings. Unlike traditional graphite art - on paper and framed behind glass - Molly’s drawings are made on a cradled panel and protected with a hard permanent coating. Graphite art on cradled panels isn’t widely seen and mentors are few. Molly’s process is ever evolving. Discovering new tools and techniques, often unconventional ones, keeps this journey fresh and alive. Molly’s art has always been about expressing the beauty in nature. From an early age, Molly painted with oil and watercolour and attended various workshops and classes. Her graphite work is inspired by the boreal forest and all of Saskatchewan’s diverse scenery. She works from her home studio in Saskatoon. Molly Clark’s work is found exclusively at Black Spruce Gallery.
