Never worked with acrylic paint before? This workshop will explore all the properties of Golden Professional acrylic paints including heavy body to hi flow and fluid, media, thinners, glazes etc. Blending of gels, pastes for different effects and styles including collage will be explored. The preferred supports from canvas to wood panel will be included. Colour blending and layering will be discussed and practiced as well as different brush strokes from palette knife to pointillism. This workshop will give you the foundation to painting with this exciting media and help avoid problems in the future. All paints and supports will be supplied. No prior painting experience required. Learn how to make your paintings sing with luminance! Bring light and balanced color into your paintings. How to avoid "muddy" colors. Learn how to include neutrals so that your pure colors glow. Learn how to create 3D effects that add depth to your works. The exercises will teach you to "see" in 3D and design your works accordingly. These techniques transfer to all types of subject matter from portraits, hyper realism, impressionism to abstract. 1, 2, and 3 point perspectives will be explored and how these concepts transfer to your art, regardless of subject matter. Take your art and compositions to a new level. Learn about the universal language of art and composition. Explore the secrets of the old masters. This workshop will take you on an amazing journey into the psychology of art and design and how we "see". When applied to photos, paintings, in fact, any design, the result is a more pleasing composition. Starting with the 4 most important lines, to the horizontal line, rule of thirds, dynamic symmetry, and finally, the golden ratio. You will have tools and skills to add these concepts to your work. The Saturday, March 15th Art Workshop, Golden Ratio, will include theory for the first hour, and then exercises. Additional theory and exercises will follow, and then time to practice. Some painting/photography experience is recommended. Participants are encouraged to bring drawing supplies. There will be no painting. Limited spots available.
